Van Wyk said she envisions local farmers offering fruits, vegetables, plants and herbs, Links of London Back To School Chubby Black Pencil Charm and teas, baked goods and even prepared meals. Regional artisans would sell handmade artwork in a variety of mediums, as well as jewelry, clothing, candles and collectables. Musicians, magicians, student and theater performances would add to the festive Links of London Jumbo Charm. Doug Hiser, of the Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitor's Bureau, is a professional artist and author who has "a great interest" in plans for the market. "The town is a haven for so many artists and the atmosphere of the area is a niche market for arts and organic foods," said Links of London Bookworm Charm. He said Seabrook would benefit from being identified as "a cultural place of art" and as artistic alternative to the more tourist-driven Kemah Boardwalk. Shoreacres resident Rebecca Collins, 45, said the area "needs this kind of enterprise to help with revitalization.
